5 Tips to Make the Most of Your Disney College Program
Hello Everyone!
I wanted to make a post this week about my Disney College Program memories, but then I realized I've always been doing that on here! So I decided to make a post about my 5 tips to make the most out of your college program.
I wanted to make a post this week about my Disney College Program memories, but then I realized I've always been doing that on here! So I decided to make a post about my 5 tips to make the most out of your college program.
- Make the Most Out of Every Moment
- If you work in the morning, go to the parks after! If you work at night, get up and go to the park a bit before work. Make the most of all your free time. People tend to not realize how much you work on a college program, and all work and no play will make you very sad. Even if you want to relax, invite some friends over to watch a movie! Which leads to my next point...
- Get to know your Co-Workers and Roommates
- I had the best roommates that a girl could have asked for, and we had so much fun. I never really got to know my co-workers (for many reasons. I worked at all 3 All Stars and I rarely worked with the same people) and it was amazing to have great roommates to go to the parks with. If I could do it again, I would have tried harder to get to know my co-workers. When I extended my program I really only had one best friend, and if she was busy I had few other people to hangout with. In Disney you are working most of the time, so it is nice to have a lot of friends to hang out with when you aren't working. You need options.
- Those friendships will last a LONG TIME.
- Explore Parts of the Parks that You Normally Don't have Time To
- Use this precious time to get to know the parks! Go ride something that you normally wouldn't on a busy park day. Honestly, go to the park and don't ride a single ride for a day. Explore the scenery, the smells, the entertainment. There is so much to do that isn't a ride. EXPLORE.
- Eat at New Restaraunts
- Explore new food options too! As a cast member you will get discounts on lots of restaurants, so try somewhere new. This was one of my goals and I had a blast trying new places. The resorts have great restaurants so make your way to new places.
- Be Present
- This is my life motto. Don't wish it away. You will miss home, but take advantage of living in the happiest place in the world. Enjoy every day. Make reservations for a staycation and spend time at a Disney Resort as a guest. Use your nights to journal or blog about your day. I wish that I had written down my daily experiences as a concierge.
